Jack VAN POORTFLIET
Jack van Poortvliet may just just the future of English rugby. He’s already its present.
Born in Norwich in 2001, Jack's rugby journey began at North Walsham RFC before he joined the Leicester Tigers academy at age 12. By 18, he was making his senior debut for the Tigers, and by 20, he had captained England U20s to a Grand Slam in the 2021 Six Nations, earning the Player of the Championship title.
In 2022, Jack made his senior England debut against Australia, scoring a try in Perth. He quickly became a key figure in the national team, starting in all five matches of the 2023 Six Nations.
At Leicester Tigers, Jack has made over 90 appearances, contributing to their 2022 Premiership title. He continues to be a pivotal player, recently re-signing with the club and scoring a try in a 32–0 victory over Northampton Saints.
Off the field, Jack is known for his humility and dedication. Coming from a farming family with Dutch and Scottish roots, he balances his professional commitments with a grounded personal life. His dad, Jeff, was also a formidable player with Saracens in the 90s.
With Jack, you're not just witnessing the rise of a talented scrum-half; you're engaging with a leader whose impact resonates both on and off the pitch.
