Joe Launchbury

Born in Exeter in 1991, Launchbury's journey began with grassroots clubs like Exmouth RFC and Horsham RUFC. After a stint in the Harlequins Academy, he joined Worthing RFC, where his performances caught the attention of Wasps. Making his debut in 2011, he quickly became a mainstay, amassing over 150 appearances and serving as club captain. His leadership was pivotal during Wasps' runs to the Premiership finals in 2017 and 2020.

Internationally, Launchbury earned 70 caps for England between 2012 and 2020. He was named England Player of the Year for the 2012–13 season and played a significant role in England's Grand Slam victory in the 2016 Six Nations. His contributions were also vital during England's journey to the Rugby World Cup final in 2019.

Simply put, Joe is one hell of a player.

Following Wasps' unfortunate administration in 2022, Launchbury had a brief stint with Toyota Verblitz in Japan before returning to England to join Harlequins for the 2023–24 season. His experience and leadership have been invaluable, contributing to Harlequins' historic run to the Champions Cup semi-finals.

Off the field, Launchbury is known for his humility and dedication. Married with three children, he balances family life with his professional commitments, embodying the values of perseverance and integrity.
